Food for Families

History

In 2013 our Grand Knight, Mike Carlin, attended a presentation given by the then "Feeding America", which is now known as "Feeding San Diego".   He listened carefully and then was given a tour of the warehouse.  The representative shared that if they could not distribute this food in the next few days it would be transported to a land fill.  Mike was moved by the Holy Spirit to do something to help feed those in our parish area who may at times be without food.  After several months of planning and obtaining the support of our council and the parish the program was started.  This Corporal Act of Mercy; “Feed the Hungry”, has been maintained over the years with the help and support of many Knights and parishioners.  Below are listed the tasks required to maintain this ministry to the needy.   Please consider volunteering your time to help keep this vibrant ministry going.  Email GK@kofc9665.org with how you may be able to help.
